Beyond Translation was founded by Tim Williams and Kevin Skinner, two subject matter experts who saw a growing need for Japanese businesses to communicate fluently with new audiences across the globe. As well as fully capturing the essence and fine detail of your Japanese messaging, we can transform your Japanese text into fresh and impactful copy for native English speakers.

Tim williams

Tim has over 20 years’ experience working with Japanese companies and is fluent in Japanese. After several years working with leading Japanese companies in Tokyo, he returned to London and has spent more than 15 years in financial services, working in both sales and translation roles. Experienced in creating English versions of complex information for investors, he brings a rare level of understanding of the linguistic challenges of Japanese-to-English translation.

 Professional background: Tim has worked in the financial services industry for companies including Daiwa Securities, Morgan Stanley and Mizuho. A specialist in the Japanese market, he uses his high-level Japanese skills to act as a professional interpreter and translator for investors into Japan.

 Education: Leeds University, Civil Engineering

Kevin Skinner

Kevin is a senior copywriter with 20 years’ experience of working with leading global brands. Whether you are communicating to consumers, businesses or investors, he brings the writing skills to help you persuade and inform with charm and style.

 

Professional background: Kevin has worked for a number of ad agencies in London, most recently McCann. His client list includes global leaders such as Nestle, Barclays, Verizon, Zurich, Equinor, Rolls-Royce and Deloitte.

 

Education: Cambridge University, English
